The Westchester County Board of Legislators Michaelian Building in White Plains, N.Y. was the site for the Friday, August 11th,WEDR commemoration of the granting of women’s voting rights on August 26, 1920, the Ratification of the 19th Amendment. The day’s theme: Planned Parenthood’s Lack of Support for Women Defies True Feminism.
It was a thrilling afternoon celebrating Executive Director Maryl Turchi of Life Options in Yonkers, N.Y. As the 2017 Honoree and recipient of the Mott-Stanton-Anthony Award, Maryl’s professional accomplishments, including the recent bus shelter advertising campaign, and her personal efforts on behalf of women in crisis pregnancies and their unborn children only hinted at the scope of the richly deserved recognition. Many of her family, friends and co-workers were there to wish her well.
Keynote speaker Stasia Zoladz Vogel, Esq., Member of Bar of the U.S. Supreme Court, and President of Regional Right to Life Committee, brought her own lifetime of legal battles waged and her memorable anecdotes, both amusing and heartfelt. We hope she will join us again! Videos will be posted soon.

Channel 12’s coverage of the event was the first time in several years our press releases brought out cameras. We got two minutes of coverage on the afternoon and evening broadcasts from channel 12. We will be posting it along with portions of the other talks that day.

The Hudson Valley Coalition for Life’s Press Release for the event stated, “Discussions will highlight the needs of women and Planned Parenthood’s record of care, or the lack of it, for their clients. Many women today who proudly wear the name feminist are content to ignore the facts and accept without challenge the startling statistics in Planned Parenthood’s own most recent Annual Report* that the actual health services given to women are incredibly lacking while abortions flourish. Participants will challenge those women who do not wish to challenge Planned Parenthood.”
“The day’s events will explore how women today use their hard-gained votes for societal change, and how these same votes have affected women in the long and short term, especially since Roe legalized abortion over forty years ago. Speakers will discuss the dignity of all human life and the pivotal role women play in society’s understanding of the needs of the most vulnerable among us: pregnant women, the child in the womb, the frail, sick and elderly.”
Our tax dollars should go to healthcare that does not provide abortions. PP Annual Report stats:

- adoptions referrals to “other agencies” 2,839
- contraception services 2,808,815
- total revenue (including taxpayer $$$) $1,354,300,000
- total expenses $1,276,800,000
- excess revenue over expenses $77,500,000…that’s millions, folks…nice profit for a non-profit
