Planned Parenthood – the Defunding Decline Continues<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  Just recently, PP closed 5 building locations in California, one in Ohio, one in Indiana. They\u2019ve announced two in Houston Texas will close September 30. All that\u2019s on top of ones already this year, and is probably just a start. See the running tab<\/a>. This is in anticipation of Medicaid funding cuts due to start October 1 \u2013 though a lower-court judge has blocked the cut in what even The Washington Post<\/em> editorial board<\/a> decries as judicial overreach. The appeals process is expected to overturn this.
        This isn\u2019t actually the start of the decline. It\u2019s only the start of PP blaming it on the federal funding cuts.
        Some media sources are passing along PP\u2019s line that the centers most vulnerable to being cut are those in underserved areas. They don\u2019t stop to consider: if there\u2019s an actual concern about those who are underserved, why wouldn\u2019t PP concentrate its remaining resources there?
        Meanwhile, a July 23 press release<\/a> announced that the Missouri Attorney General\u2019s office has filed a lawsuit against Planned Parenthood for systemically misleading women about the risks of the abortion pill.
