Bishop Gin\u00e9s Garc\u00eda Beltr\u00e1n, of the Diocese of Getafe in southern Spain, is baptizing 14 children rescued from the doors of abortion clinics.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is thanks to the good work of the M\u00e1s Futuro<\/em> (\u201cMore Future\u201d) association and the Rescatadores Juan Pablo II<\/em><\/a> (\u201cJohn Paul II Rescuers\u201d), who offer mothers and their children a new chance at life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been very complicated because each mother has a different problem, but saving babies from abortion makes us deeply happy. Despite the particularly complicated moment, we\u2019re rescuing many children,\u201d says Marta Velarde, head of M\u00e1s Futuro<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e1s Futuro<\/em> has its headquarters in Alcorc\u00f3n, near Madrid, where they also have a shelter for mothers at risk of having an abortion who also have another child in their care and whom no one else is helping. They also work with other mothers who\u2019ve already had an abortion and need advice and support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The association explains that they\u2019ve been preparing for many months for this celebration and that they\u2019re very excited to live this special day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bishop comments –<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday I would like to refer to a deception, a red herring that\u2019s hidden in this law,\u201d explained Bishop Gin\u00e9s Garc\u00eda Beltr\u00e1n in declarations to Cadena COPE<\/em>: \u201cToday there\u2019s a debate about whether or not a 16-year-old girl has to ask one of her parents for their consent to have an abortion. There are those who think that it\u2019s not necessary \u2013 which is an aberration \u2013 and there are those who think that it is necessary. But the misdirection I\u2019m referring to is that both sides put all the emphasis on the consent of the parent, as if the consent of a parent would turn a bad act into a good act.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat is to say, with or without parental consent, abortion will always be bad<\/strong>,\u201d explains the bishop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these statements, he also reflects on the defense of the life of the unborn, which must go beyond a religious question: \u201cThis is something we have to think about and defend.
