Reilly in the Daily News article.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/new-york\/brooklyn\/sunset-park-clinic-longer-offer-abortions-offering-outpatient-surgical-care-article-1.1170789\" target=\"_self\">A Sunset Park abortion clinic has shut down after Catholic protesters drove away doctors and patients, according to the owner of the clinic.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\tThe Ambulatory Specialty Surgery Center of Brooklyn on 43rd St., closed<br \/> earlier this month and will reopen in October as a new medical center <br \/>providing outpatient surgeries, but not abortion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\tCatholic leaders claimed the clinic\u2019s closure after 22 years as a <br \/>victory for their anti-abortion effort. Abortion advocates said they had<br \/> never heard of a clinic in the city closing under pressure from <br \/>protesters.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\tMonsignor Philip Reilly &#8211; leader of the group the Helpers of God\u2019s <br \/>Precious Infants &#8211; said he has gone to the center every week since it <br \/>first opened to protest the abortions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\tReilly said both he and local Catholics were so happy, a celebration <br \/>mass was held on Saturday at St. Michael\u2019s Church on the same block as <br \/>the clinic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\t\u201cIt\u2019s a complete victory,\u201d said Reilly. \u201cThe people who are doing it have evolved and their hearts have changed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#0160;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thanks to Ed Mechmann for sending us this.
